Desiring to become a Student Athlete at the collegiate level focusing on my academics while remaining involved in the game of baseball, which I love. I believe in representing my school in the best ways possible in both aspects. I have been taught that a balance of academics, athletics, good citizenship, and faith is the answer to an individual's future success and well-being.
I am enrolled in John Adams High School located in South Bend Indiana. It is the largest public school in South Bend, Indiana, with an enrollment of nearly 2000 students.
Academically I have been a consistent Honor Roll Student. I was recently inducted to the National Honor Society. My current coursework is primarily International Baccalaureate Honors Courses with the intention of earning the full International Baccalaureate Diploma.
In baseball, John Adams participates in the very competitive Northern Indiana Conference at the highest athletic class designation in the state of Indiana. Three out of the last 5 years an Indiana State Baseball Champ has been crowned from the Northern Indiana Conference.
I have played baseball since the age of five and have the aspiration of playing as long as my game will take me. Playing on the fields at Eastside, located in South Bend, Indiana has given me the opportunity to play at a competitive level of baseball through out my early years and through Juniors with a Babe Ruth and Baseball Players Association affiliation. Accolades I received at the Juniors level were Selection to the Indiana Babe Ruth All Tournament North-South All Star Team as a 13U and 14U. I was also a Babe Ruth who's who.
In Middle School Baseball our School Team at Edison Intermediate won the South Bend City Tournament whereby I was one of two sixth-graders that started on the 8th grade team. Edison went on the next two years to be runners up in the tournament. Personal accolades received in Middle School Baseball at Edison were Team Captain as a 7th grader and 8th grader, Co-Most Valuable Player as an 8th grader. I also was blessed to receive the Joseph Boland Award (Former and late Notre Dame and South Bend Tribune Sportswriter) which honors South Bend's best Student Athlete as an 8th grader.
In High School, I was one of 4 Freshmen to make Junior Varsity out of 64 ball players trying out. At John Adams, I was made co-captain of the Freshman Class Baseball Players. During the Junior Varsity Season, I started all but one game helping the team to a 2nd place Northern Indiana Conference Record of 15-6. I mainly played at 2nd base with some starts at my more natural position of 3rd base.
As a Sophomore, I earned a spot on the Varsity Roster. I was able to start in 6 games and spot-played as a utility infielder, mainly at short stop and 2nd base. This was on a senior-heavy team. I was able to support the team to a 3rd place Northern Indiana Conference finish at 13-11.
As a Junior, I have been moved primarily to shortstop where I am expected to play most of the time.
Phrases coaches, umpires, and others involved in baseball have stated to me or have used to describe me are: "Hard Worker", "Possesses Baseball Intelligence", "Team Leader", "Clutch Player", "Self-less", "Glue that holds everything together", "Run Creator", "Quiet Confidence", "Well-Rounded and Grounded", "Throw Back from a different time."
