Chase Bennett '18 Recruiting Profile

Baseball has been a major part of my life since I was 5 years old. I was lucky enough to have an excellent coach who not only taught the basics but also pushed us to excel in every aspect of baseball. This hard work paid off when our team, Indiana Bulls, won the 11U Travelball National Championship in 2012. I was selected as an All American, Second team in 2013. In 2014-2015, (my freshman year) I suffered a setback due to several injuries. I broke my wrist playing baseball, broke my collar bone playing football and broke my ankle playing basketball. I had to work extra hard in the weight room and on agility drills to regain the strength and speed I lost. This unfortunate experience helped me grow as a person and to refocus my efforts. I decided to concentrate my efforts on becoming a solid all-around baseball player capable of playing at the college level.

Last season, my high school won the Johnson County Baseball Tournament for the first time in over 40 years. This was just one of the highlights of my high school career. I have been a varsity starter since sophomore year. I am proud of the growth and improvements that our team has made in the past few years. Some of my other accomplishments are being selected as defensive player of the year as an outfielder my junior year, selected to attend Baseball Factory Omaha World Series Camp last summer and being selected to play in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament.

I am extremely dedicated and a very good team player. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me both athletically and academically. I think I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but also the character, work-ethic and dedication to make an immediate impact on your program.
