Dawson George '24 Recruiting Profile

Dawson George is a versatile infielder for Taft College, set to start at shortstop for the 2025–2026 season and serve on the team’s leadership. At 6’3, Dawson combines size, athleticism, and baseball IQ, bringing both talent and character to any NCAA Division I program. He made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2024, earning a starting role at third base while also contributing at first and second. Redshirting in 2025, Dawson used the year to refine his skills, grow as a leader, and complete the standard four semesters toward his Associate of Arts in Communications. He will graduate in Spring 2026 before transferring to a four-year program to pursue his bachelor’s degree.

A right-handed hitter and thrower, Dawson pairs offensive consistency with defensive reliability. At the 2025 WBS Colts U18 Showcase, he hit .459 with a .545 OBP, .703 SLG, and a .974 fielding percentage. He has also shown exceptional versatility, filling in as catcher and pitcher at the 2023 Australian Nationals, and competed successfully above his age group at the 2022 U19 Showcase.

An American Citizen, raised in Perth, Western Australia, as a missionary kid, Dawson developed resilience, adaptability, and leadership from an early age. Off the field, he mentors teammates, coaches youth players, and umpires games, using baseball to inspire others. With size, skill, and a relentless work ethic, Dawson is poised to make an immediate impact at the NCAA Division I level, excelling in the classroom, on the field, and as a representative of his future program.
