Personal Statement

In the first place, I want to develop myself a lot in baseball. The mechanics, game reading, pitching, fielding, batting, all of what there is.

I want to put in work for the team to get better. I want to execute and embrace my role in the team.  I definitely want to have rivals in baseball because here in Estonia I cannot have any. For instance, rivals help you get better and push yourself to the limit and I need that.  I put a lot of work in, just to get better and become the best. Also, I am cold-blooded when it comes to decicive moments as a pitcher.  Additionally, my post college graduation goal is to become a surgeon or a physiotherapist and help other people with their problems, but only if  I am not able to become a professional baseball player.

I know I have a lot to learn and work on, but that is what I am the most excited about going to a college or a university.  In short, I want to go PRO. That is my dream and the main objective.

  • I played for Vikings. Head coach Bart Jannsen, assistant coach Anthony Vroljik. I pitched the final game, for 6 innings, when the last inning started my coach asked me if I wanted to end the game and I responded to that: '' Yes, definitely, I want to win this game!'' My arm at the moment felt a little bit numb but I promised that if I hurt myself then I would switch with the power pitcher. So I went to mound, feeling excited and at the same time focused. The crowd was going crazy. The score was 3:1 for us and all I had to do was to end the game. My teammates were cheering me up. After the first strikeout with the slider, the bench and the crowd went crazy. I was one step closer to the end. Next batter was a power hitter. I threw him a fastball near to his chest and he swung, the ball hit up the air and the catcher caught it. Next batter had the best AVG and he hit a line drive to right field. He managed to get to second. That was the point when I knew that it would be less risky if the power pitcher would come to pitch. He had been waiting to pitch from 3rd inning. So I was put to CF. The first batter hit another line drive and the score was 3:2. Fortunately he was able to strike out the next batter and we won the game. My family was so proud of me and I was aswell. Later my coach told me: ''You sure are something special Aleks Kris''. I remember everything of the game. I believe that has been the highlight of my baseball career. That game still gives me butterflies, when I think about it. :)

  • Impressed my team coach (Folkwin Lautenslager) as a reliever pitcher in the group games. He put me in and did not throw a single ball even, It was the last inning and we won. My coach was impressed and he put me to pitch the final game. We lost the game, but I pitched well for 5 innings. Coach took me out when the score was 3:2 for them. We lost the game 6:3. It is an awesome tournament.
