Diego Melendez '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Diego Melendez. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I am a senior in the 2021 class at Leadership Christian Academy in Guaynabo, PR. My height is 5'10" and I weight about 220 pounds. I throw and hit right handed and my primary position is catcher, but I also play the corner infield. I would like to play college baseball because I look for the opportunity to take my skills to another level while also getting a degree. I like to compete and also like playing in high pressure situations since out of those situations the best players come out.  I'am a leader on and off the field and I work as hard as I can to obtain a goal. My biggest influences are my parents and God. My dad taught me to play baseball at 6 years old and I have been playing ever since. My main goal is to graduate high school, go to college and keep playing baseball. With that in mind I have been working very hard for a long time to be successful in both roles; as a student and as an athlete.
