I was born in Malaysia and lived in Southern China my entire life until my family relocated to Hong Kong in May 2014. I learned Mandarin from an early age attending local Chinese schools from the age of 2 and consider it my mother tongue together with English. I am also conversant in basic French and hope to continue to improve this year. I am an American citizen.
I attend The Hong Kong International High School. I finished my freshman year of pitching with a promotion to the Varsity for the final tournament of the year in Beijing, where I earned my first win in the Asia Pacific Athletic Conference championships in October, 2014 a few days before my 14th birthday. I also play 1st Base as well as LF and RF. I started pitching at the age of 9 for a Chinese regional team in Guangzhou.
I played in Hong Kong Little League for 5 years, making the majors all-star team, as well as the junior all-star team twice. I was Co-Captain of the 2015 Junior All-Star team that competed in Saipan, CNMI.
I began my Junior year in August 2016. I plan to take my SAT's in January 2017. I have a challenging Academic workload including; AP Chinese, AP Micro/Micro Economics, as well as Physics, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, Junior English. Our baseball season was from August through October, and we played in Shanghai, China, Manila The Philippines, and Kobe, Japan. HKIS won the Canadian School Invitational in Kobe, Japan September 9-11. We also won the China Cup in Shanghai in early October. We placed second in the Asia Pacific Athletic Conference Championships at the end of October. My final season highlights were
1) Complete Game Victory in Kobe, Japan finals of Canadian School Invitational
2) Complete Game Victory in Shanghai, China finals of the China Cup.
3) Starting and winning pitcher in the Semi Finals of the APAC Championships in Manila, The Philippines.
4) Final record 5 - 0, 2.93 ERA, 28.2 IP, 26 K. Led the team in these categories.
I am looking forward to continuing to improve my baseball and academic skills so that I can have the experience of playing baseball in College while continuing to be challenged academically.
