Hayden Malaise '23 Recruiting Profile

I have played almost every major youth sport (basketball, football, lacrosse, ice hockey), but the one constant has been baseball.   I fell in love with this bat and ball game during the summer of 2008 at the age of 3 watching my dad's lawyer league softball games on the National Mall.  My love for the game was further fostered by my family's annual trips to watch games at Camden Yards and the Nationals Park.   

In addition to playing baseball at the collegiate level, my goals are to obtain a business degree while earning a 4.0 GPA and potentially attend law school afterward.  Baseball has taught me that hard work and determination (along with the ability to quickly forget and move on) will eventually lead to successes, both big and small.  I try to bring this positive mindset to the dugout.  Despite being headstrong and determined, I am versatile as a player (P, 1B, 3B, RF, and C if the team is really desperate), and I'm not afraid to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new.  You will hear me in the dugout.  I am competitive and vocal and will be the first one to celebrate the successes of my teammates or pick them up when needed.  TEAM first.
