My name is Owen Russell and I’m a Sophomore at Nokomis Regional High School, class of 2028. I’ve been playing baseball since the age of 4. In 2025 I played Varsity and JV baseball at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport Maine and played in the Perfect Game Elite division for the 14U Maine Prospects Baseball Club.
Going into the offseason this year I will be having a major focus on getting stronger in the gym and also more athletic. I'm currently lifting weights 3 days a week, rotational workouts 1 day and foot speed drills 1 day. I'm not playing a fall school sport, but am playing fall ball with my travel team. I will be playing Basketball in the winter and Baseball in the spring.
My Sophomore year I will be taking a heavy Honors workload for classes, even doubling up on math and taking an AP World class. My family puts an emphasis on good grades and success in the classroom. My goal in the classroom is to continue to be a High Honors student and a leader in my community.
My goal is to work hard enough in high school to earn an opportunity to attend a college/university that has a good engineering program. I’m unsure if I want to be an electrical or mechanical engineer, but I do want to pursue a career as an engineer.
I would be a great addition to your baseball program because of my work ethic in both the classroom and on the field.
