My priorities and aspirations have changed since the start of high school. As a high school student, my priorities are set on my family and my future. I am looking for a school where I can pursue my baseball career while getting a good education. I am determined and willing to put full effort into school and sports. One of the things that shaped me as a student athlete is getting mercy ruled by a really bad team during my freshman season. This put into perspective that anything can happen, no matter how unlikely. The issue in this game was that we played down to our opponent's skill level. Through that game, I realized the importance of giving my full effort at all times, whether it be during games or during practice.
Among other changes, playing soccer, football, basketball, and baseball during high school has taught me to manage my time wisely and to focus on the most important things in life. The first being that academics come first, then sports. Prioritizing is a very important skill, especially when it is time to apply for college. Maintaining a 5.2 GPA and playing a sport each season is not easy but through my dedication and organization, I have been able to do it. Being a student athlete has opened up opportunities for me and has prepared me to take on the greater challenges that life has to offer.
