Personal Statement

My name is Miguel Agramonte and I want to pursue my educational goals as a collegiate athlete at any division level. I have been playing baseball since I was four years old and love every aspect of the game. I would like to pursue a career in sports management and/or sports statistical analysis. I am looking for a college that diverse and welcoming to all students of different backgrounds. I want to learn from others who have had different experiences from my own. I am a hard worker that doesn't give up after a mistake. I look forward to meeting you and helping your program achieve its goals.

Body: 6’0’’, 182 pounds. Strong, solid, athletic body type. Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched, open stance at the plate. Creates solid hand separation with a smooth toe tap load and attacks the ball with intent. Quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone with a gap-to-gap line drive approach. Slightly uphill bat path with great extension through the zone and past contact with some lower half involvement. Worked mostly middle to pull side during BP, squaring up several balls consistently. Power: 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Ball explodes off the bat with present strength and power to the pull side. Arm: RH. INF - 69 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter arm slot. Defense: Plays loose with quick, active feet and moves well for his size. Fields the ball out in front, funneling it to the belt with a slight glove tap during exchange. Rangy side to side with soft hands and clean exchanges throughout. Run: 4.83 home-to-first time.

Miguel Agramonte III is a 2021 SS/OF with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from Fallston, MD who attends Fallston. Athletic build with good present strength. Right handed hitter, rotational hitting approach with a line drive swing plane, has a strong swing on the inner half and can turn on pitches, tends to cast his hands and reach on the outside half and lose bat speed, has the strength to continue to improve at the plate with adjustments. Third base tools on defense, stays back on the ball and stays balanced, step by step fielder who can make the routine play, developing arm strength.

Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18)

Miguel is an athletic prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments during the Mid Atlantic Hitting Camp. At the plate, Miguel starts in an open stance, has a loose grip, and keeps a quiet head. He loads his hands back into the drive position, stays flat to the ball, and hits off a firm front side. Continuing to create backside rotation in his lower half and attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Keeping his head down at contact will prevent his front shoulder from opening up early and will give him good direction to the ball. Miguel will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Miguel is lean, athletic SS/RHP who will graduate in 2021. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 60-62 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He slows arm speed on his changeup tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Miguel has potential with time and room to progress his game. He played 4 games, went 3 for 8 (.375)at the plate with 3 1Bs, 1 SB, 3 BBs and 1 K. He had 5 put outs from SS along with 5 put outs, 2 assists (1DP) and no errors this weekend.
