Dear College Coaches,
Hello, my name is Trevor Owens and I am currently a junior at Parkside High School in Salisbury Maryland. I am currently on the high school baseball team which was my goal entering my high school career. I have played baseball since I have been five years old. The love of baseball has ran through my veins from watching Sportscenter instead of cartoons. This love has not ran out in my body. Now, reflecting through my last two years of high school, I have set a new goal for myself. The goal I have set is to continue my baseball career. I cannot imagine my life without baseball as it leaves a hole in my identity. I want to put all of my hard work and dedication to the next level. If I am given an opportunity to play at the next level I promise to be a hard working student athlete perfecting my baseball craft while giving one-hundred percent in the classroom.
In many aspects of my high school career, my high school experience has differed me from other college recruits. To start high school, I came from a middle school graduation class of eighty kids to my freshmen class of almost three hundred. This lead to me being a small fish in a big pond, but I adapted. I was able to create new friends and good relationships that still hold true today. This level of responsibility held true for me in the classroom as well. As a freshmen I assumed a leadership role, in baseball, on junior varsity. I have maintained this leadership role through my sophomore and junior year. I have enjoyed having the underclassmen looking up to me and having the opportunity to motivate the team during games, practice, and off season workouts. Putting baseball aside, the word of student in student athlete comes first for a reason. I put my work in the classroom before my work outside of the classroom. This year I am currently taking four advanced placement classes along with an honors class. This has me spend a lot of late nights at the computer but I complete my work for the next day. These late nights have allowed me to maintain a GPA of 4.75. Thank you for considering me for your baseball program and university.
Sincerely,
Trevor Owens
