I am a year-round athlete that has been playing competitive baseball since I was 5. I have played on BCML travel teams during Spring and Fall seasons for the past 5 years. My main position has been 1B, and my secondary position is CF, but I have also played 2B and some SS. I was captain for my high school baseball team in my freshman year. I am told that I am a leader on and off the field, and I greatly appreciate that, but I think of myself as an equal. I am no different than the guy next to me except for the fact that I lead our team.
I am very competitive and always seek challenges on and off the field. Despite having unilateral hearing loss in one ear, I have been nominated by my travel teammates to All Star teams in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Among my awards to date are Team Sportsmanship award (2015) and All Star game MVP (2016). In 2017, I started teaching softball to kids with disabilities through the Baltimore County School system's Allied Sports Program (http://dci.bcps.org/department/curriculum_operations/athletics/allied_sports), and I plan to continue participating in this after-school through high school.
Academically, I have always maintained at least a 3.0 GPA. and my coursework includes honors courses in American Government and Earth Sciences. I would like to study Sports Business or a related field in college while playing collegiate-level baseball.
