Since I was 2 years old, baseball has been everything to me. It has been there for me at the lowest points in my life and has never changed. It has been a rock in my life, and I am forever grateful for the game of baseball.
What I believe separates me from my competition is my passion for the game and my competitive nature. My will to win drives me through challenging plays, innings, and games. I play the game hard and always look for my opportunity to capitalize in clutch situations. I take pride in my at-bats, no matter what the score is I always aim to get on base any way I can. I don't take plays off. When I am on the field, I am always ready for the ball to be hit to me and am ready for any situation that might follow. You can always rely on me to make the play when the ball is hit to me. I bring a lot of excitement to the field and my teammates feed off of my energy. Whenever there is an opportunity to take an extra base, dive for a ball, or pick my teammates up when they are down, I jump on the opportunity. I am aware that it takes an overwhelming amount of hard work and talent to succeed at the next level, which includes working the hardest when no one is watching, and I am more than willing to do what it takes to thrive at the next level.
Another aspect that separates me from the rest is my academic achievements. My willingness to compete both on and off the field is noteworthy. I challenge myself academically. My junior year included 2 AP classes (AP U.S History and AP Language and Composition) and 3 honors classes (Pre-calculus, Chemistry, and Spanish). I also completed an introduction to business class this year as I was previously interested in the business category from the entrepreneurship class I took in my sophomore year. I received an award for excellence in introduction to business at the end of the year celebrating my distinguished success and interest in the course. I push myself to my limits to ensure that I am getting the most out of my education that I possibly can. I currently have a 4.0 weighted GPA which is a driving force in my search for the perfect college.
When I am not playing baseball or doing schoolwork, I like to spend my free time working to better my play on the field and my success academically. I spend my time studying and researching in order to figure out more about my specific interests in the business field. I also spend the majority of my time doing tee work, working out, and following a rigorous throwing program with my friend who continually pushes me to my limits.
As for my collegiate and post-collegiate goals, I intend on majoring in business, potentially with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. I know it can be hard to find, but I am searching for a college where I can thrive both athletically and academically. I am willing to work even harder and push myself further and do whatever it takes to ensure that success.
