Personal Statement
Hello coaches! My name is Bobby Trigilio and I am a 2023 C/RHP out of Chicopee, MA and I am a great fit for your program because I am talented, hardworking, and passionate in everything I do both on and off the field. I am a devout Catholic and I have been an altar server for almost ten years, and Jesus is and always has been front and center in my life. I have also been participating in Kung Fu since age 3 and earned my black belt at age 10. These activities have taught me about discipline, hard work, and how the mind, body, and soul all work in unison and how greatness can be achieved from this.
Firstly, I have been playing baseball since I was four years old and I have always dreamed of playing for a Division 1 school and winning the CWS. I am also very active in other sports such as hockey and golf, and I know how to be a team player and what it takes to win at every level that I've played at through the years. My parents have been there for me every step of the way and I want to achieve my goals for myself firstly, but also for them as a way to thank them for all the hard work and time they have put into me and my dreams.
I am a great fit for your school and program because I provide skills that not many other players my age have. I am an excellent student with a 4.51/5.0 GPA and I have taken all honors classes my first two years of high school and will be taking 3 AP courses my Junior year. I am a tall, strong catcher with a great arm around the field and am known for picking off runners with ease at every base on the field. My coaches have also told me I have cat like reflexes when it comes to blocking and throwing runners out on bunts/drop3rd strikes/ etc. I know I am a leader on the baseball field and can put any team on my back if necessary whether that means blocking a ball in a tie game with a runner at 3rd or coming up with a big hit giving us the lead. I'm a true leader who loves his teammates and leads by example in every fashion and I know I can lead your program to a national championship.
Lastly, my goal just as every other young baseball player is to make it to the MLB and lead my team to a World Series title. As of right now, my goal is to be the best student, athlete, and person I be and lead my high school team to a state championship. For the future, I hope to be a key part of a Division 1 program who I can help win a College World Series and based on my academics and athletic talent, I know the Division 1 route is the right path for me.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
