My name is Chris Rassias and I’m currently a sophomore at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, Mass. where I play both baseball and basketball. Although I enjoy skiing and swimming, my favorite sport is baseball. I played Little League baseball in Andover, Mass. starting at five years old and I’ve played AAU and EBL travel baseball, and this upcoming season will be my eighth year. Currently, I play for the New England Nor’easters and have played for them for the last four years, and this year will be the fifth.
I work hard with my pitching and batting coaches to improve my skills. Working hard is essential for me to keep increasing my skill ability. I also work with a personal trainer to improve my strength. Over the last year, I believe my pitching velocity and movement with the ball has increased due to my training. I believe that my hitting ability will continue with my increased strength. My major goal for playing baseball is to be the best player, leader, and teammate I can possibly be. Academically, I strive to get straight A’s every semester and maintain a GPA above 4.0 which I have been doing at St. Johns Prep.
On the mound, I prefer to start, but the Prep used me in a relief role last year. When I’m not on the mound, I’m usually in center field, a position that I enjoy because I enjoy having a leadership role on the team. I would love to continue my dream of playing baseball in college.
