Personal Statement

My name is Justin MacKay. I am a high school senior, class of 2021, at Old Colony Vocational Technical High School.

I have recently started my search for a college to further my education and I wish to continue playing baseball in college.

I just received my Perfect Game Evaluation:

Justin Mackay is a 2021 RHP with a 5-11 151 lb. frame from Lakeville, MA who attends Old Colony Reg Voc Tech. Slender young build with lots of physical development remaining. High hand delivery with a leg swing down the mound, gets coiled and hides the ball well, somewhat cross body out front at release. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, had good cutting action to hit and was throw for strikes consistently. Curveball was a good secondary pitch with spin and 11/5 depth, comes out of the same slot as his fastball and is effective. Developing change up. Whole key to his development is getting stronger, he already has a solid idea how to pitch.

I was the captain of my school’s culinary team which I lead to a victory in the ProStart State Championship’s in March at Gillette Stadium.  Unfortunately, due to the pandemic the National Championship was canceled.

This past Summer I pitched 13.1 innings without giving up an earned run, with 14K/1BB for the Samurai 17U team.

2019 was a good year I pitched a CG for the Samurai to win the New England 15U Championship.

My High School Highlights are listed below:

4/3/19 – Won – CG 2 hit Shutout – 19-0 – 4ip 2H 0R 0ER 6K 2BB v South Shore
4/23/19 - Won -CG 2Hit Shutout – 9-0 - 7ip 2H 0R 0ER 14K 4BB v Norfolk Aggie
5/13/19 – Won – CG 2 Hitter 11-1 - 4ip 2H 1R 0ER 7K 2BB v Tri-County
5/20/19 - Won 4ip 0H 0R 0ER 11K 2BB v Cape Cod Tech - 57 Pitches (was taken out for sportsmanship while winning 25-0)

I pitched in Perfect Game's 2020 East Coast Showcase. My Line for the Day was:  IP   H    R    ER    BB    K
