Lucas DeBell '25 Recruiting Profile

My college goals and aspirations are to play baseball while receiving a good education. I could come up with so many cliché statements, but the fact of the matter is since I was 2 years old, I told my mom that I wanted to be a professional baseball player. This is not a dream; it’s a goal and I have and will continue to work hard to achieve it. I am the guy who wants to be up to bat with a runner in scoring position and down by one with two outs in the final inning. I would be a great fit for any college team because I lead by example, I am humble, a team player, self-motivated and I have the drive to always be the best, whether that’s at games or practices. I have played travel baseball since the age of 7. I was always the smallest and youngest player on my teams this was motivation for me to work harder and play smarter than those around me.  I did have a big growth spurt over the past year and now those kids are not that much bigger than me anymore, but I still have a big internal drive to continuously improve. I am proud to share I have led my team or been in the top 3 in all offensive categories since I was 8 years old, and I owe this to my coaches, my teammates and most of all my own strong work ethic. I apply the same drive and motivation to my education as well. It is important to be a well-rounded person to reach success. I am currently taking AP Language Arts and Spanish 4 as well as regular grade level classes. I am so excited to start this journey of finding the place that needs me and wants me to represent them as much as I need and want to lead for them. Baseball truly is my passion…and it is FUN!!!!!
