Josh is a young RHP/OF that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Arm strength is slightly above average as indicated by his top velocity of 80 mph. Fastball shows a range of 77-80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.32 60 time. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls through an aggressive approach. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he works to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared setup and he tracks the ball well. Hands are aggressive and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will increase has works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. With 2years to further develop, Josh has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
