Thinking about my goals beyond high school is exciting. I have a passion to play collegiate baseball and a desire to earn a business degree with a focus in economics. It is important that I weigh both equally to ensure I am setting myself up for future success. I have learned throughout my time as a student athlete that the classroom and field are very similar, I must listen, learn, contribute and be open to correction and guidance. I feel I am a leader and with that comes responsibility, my performance and behavior should model what I expect of my teammates and peers.
I am a 6"0', 175lb. quarterback, shooting guard and shortstop. I have been fortunate to have earned various State, Regional and Local recognition for my performance thus far in high school, something I am very proud of. I value my role on my teams, I was captain of my Varsity basketball team this season and hope to be for football and baseball my senior year as well. Losing my junior baseball season was difficult, spring season is really what drives me. Fortunately, my travel season with the Traverse City 131's picked up quickly and I was able to play ball. I have played travel ball for 4 years, competing throughout Michigan and Ohio. Last season I led my team in batting avg., HR's, stolen bases, and quality at bats. Fielding percentage of over .909 at SS. I am working extremely hard on the field and in the weight room, to do the same this season.
Being an athlete and competition is what drives me, I see myself continuing as a student athlete, earning my bachelor's degree with the possibility of returning to northern Michigan. I am lucky to be raised surrounded by water and ski hills, two things that are part of what I do regularly, surf and ski. As the school year comes with so many things unknown, I plan to keep academically focused, stay physically strong, be the best teammate I can and to earn a spot on a collegiate baseball team.
