Cody Alexander '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cody Alexander and baseball is my life.

I started playing baseball when I was in 3rd grade and I've been in love with the game ever since. I've worked hard to become the player I am today, and I've continued to work hard so I can continue to grow. I was a starter on the Junior Varsity team my freshman year and was also a captain and team MVP. I've been a starter on Varsity since my sophomore year. My sophomore year I pitched and played outfield, and I won All Conference Honorable Mention for outfield. My junior year, I mainly pitched and played center field, but I played every position for at least 4 innings. I hit .411 with 26 RBI and 24 runs scored in 28 games. I won The State Bank Athlete of the Week Award which is voted on by athletic directors from local high schools, 1st Team All Conference for Utility, 1st Team All District for Utility, Academic All District, All Tri-County Baseball Team, and Team MVP. I have also been nominated captain for the upcoming season.

In the classroom, my work ethic is just as intense. I have a 3.92 GPA and am ranked 7th in my class out of 152 students.

I am involved in several extra curricular activities. I play baritone saxophone in the marching band and hold the position of section leader, and I play baritone saxophone in the symphonic band and hold the position of 1st chair . I am also an editor for the school paper and am a member of the National Honor Society.

I am passionate about everything I do, and baseball is certainly no exception. Family and school always come first, but I can usually be found swinging a bat or tossing a ball up in the air. It is my dream to play baseball at the highest level, and if given the chance to play at college I would work hard every second and take nothing for granted. I would work to win a championship.
