I have been committed to baseball since I was 4 years old and over time, my natural athleticism and versatility afforded me the opportunity to play various positions as needed. Of late, my primary position has been catcher, though I'm very confident in my pitching and playing the outfield. Ultimately, my goal is to be the best "5 tool" player I can be. I am currently making it my mission to play baseball at the collegiate level. In the classroom and on the field, I welcome new challenges, I'm absorbent, respectful, and eager to learn. All these characteristics contributes to me being a coachable player and a natural leader. Being a quick learner and playing multiple sports has been beneficial in my success.
Baseball has taught me a lot about life such as the importance of being a team player, as you can't win a game alone. Growing up, I had the opportunity to play a variety of sports with kids that always appear to be bigger, stronger, and faster and I was frequently overlooked. I saw this as an opportunity to set goals and work harder. My work ethic has always produced a value added that I have been proud of and encourages me to perfect my craft and outwork my peers. I prioritize my time beyond team practice to sharpen my tools when nobody is watching.
"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." -Tim Notke
This is a quote my coach references and has been inspirational to me. I will always put forth my best effort of not just being a better baseball player but a better person overall.
