I’ve enjoyed playing sports since I was 5 years old. I’ve continued to be a multi-sport athlete playing soccer, ice hockey, and baseball; and continue to stay active year-round playing sports.
Playing year-round keeps me in shape and allows me to work on different muscle groups and my coordination. Although I enjoy multiple sports my passion is baseball and would be grateful to have an opportunity to play the sport I love in college.
I have a strong baseball IQ, giving me the ability to play at a high level. Having situational awareness allows me to be a better baseball player on and off the field. Understanding the areas that I need to improve on, focusing on the details of being a great catcher, making quick decisions for faster reaction time, and how to play smarter.
After this year’s high school baseball season ended I continued playing on a travel baseball team and also participating in my local VFW and American Legion League during the summer.
I have learned many things about myself from being an athlete. I enjoy playing team sports, the comradery with my teammates, and pushing myself. I enjoy the lessons I learn that help make me a better athlete and person. It’s given me self-confidence to make a commitment and stick to it; being a selfless person on and off the field; always willing to do what’s best for the team; and being a leader for those around me.
I have had many coaches throughout my years playing sports, each with their own style. This has given me a respect for others that are different then me, which will help me in my future in sports and in my life.
In the classroom I maintain a 4.0 gpa and have found I really enjoy any classes involving math. However, I have not decided on
a college major or a college. I am open to any college, I just want to find the right fit for me where I can compete in baseball and my education.
