For all of my baseball career I have known that I had the right stuff to play college ball. While I have always held my own athletically, I have always competed against kids who were bigger than me. While I remain a thinly-built athlete, I am strong and catching up. This year, while many of the early bloomers topped-off, I grew to over 6-feet and continue to put on muscle and add weight weekly. Thus, I think I have a great trajectory to do the one thing that I love most – playing baseball at a high level in college. I guess you could say this has given me a chip on my shoulder and a reason to keep competing – I want to prove to everyone what I know to be true about myself.
While excellence in academics continues to be my primary focus, there are many skills I’ve learned on the field that will continue to help shape and give me tools to use during college and after, especially with my intent on studying business: teamwork, determination, leadership, and organization.
I am coachable, committed and have developed a great ability to manage rigorous class load and be a multi-sport athlete with baseball and hockey – both of which I believe translate into being a successful student at the most rigorous of schools.
I want to contribute to a team that will help define my college experience, make lifelong friendships, and where I can help them win games. I am determined to play baseball at the collegiate level and am excited to find the right team and coach to give me that opportunity.
