My name is Dylan McKeever, and I am the hardest working individual I know. When I want something more than anything I will work harder than anyone else involved to get it. When I was younger all I wanted to do was play baseball and not a single one gave me even the slightest bit of a chance. When I was in 6th grade, one of my coaches told my dad, "You need to face the facts, your kid just isn't that good." and after hearing that I have never stopped working to be the best. Even in my job at Festival Foods, I started as a bagger and worked as hard as I could and in only a total of 6 months I became a bookkeeper. Most people have been working there for years and haven't even been moved up from bagger. I always strive to achieve and I'm never going to give up on my dream of playing baseball.
In school I always try to get good grades and take classes that will challenge me. Next year I will be doing full-time PSEO (Post Secondary Enrollment Options) at Anoka Ramsey Community college and getting some credits out of the way for college and high school, as well as have a little bit of extra time to train for baseball and study more. My high school GPA is currently only 2.8 but that's only because I didn't try in 9th grade at all, but since then I have gotten almost nothing but A's and B's. There is nothing I regret more than not trying my best that year, and I'm never going to let myself stoop to that level again.
Last baseball season I played for the 10th grade team for Coon Rapids High School, and then the VFW of Coon Rapids. I didn't play as much as I would've liked to for the school, but I really showed how good I was in the summer VFW season where I went 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA, with the most innings pitched and most appearances. I see myself typically as more of a Starting Pitcher but could also be used as a Closer. I throw the following pitches; 4-Seam Fastball, Changeup, Slider, 12-6 Curve, and a normal Curveball. My favorite pitch to throw is my slider, it has great movement and it's my best pitch to throw in a jam or to strike someone out. I play third base a little bit, although it's not my strongest spot. I've found my approach at hitting just recently and have been hitting very well since then. I'd play anywhere to help my team out.
I feel as if I would be a great addition to any team because of how hard I work and how I never give up. I'm always going to try my best and I won't ever get down on my team or myself. I'm a very positive person and I would help anywhere I was placed. All I want to do in the world is play baseball.
