Personal Statement
Every since I was very young all I remember is playing baseball. My family and I would always go to the Cardinals games and I remembered how good they were at what they did. From going to those games it inspired me to play baseball since preschool. I started off playing for little league and as I got better at the age of ten I was able to play competitive. Competitive/ travel ball taught me a lot such as, social skills, respect for the game, how to be a good person on and off the field, and how to compete against the competition. To me baseball isn't just a sport, it is my life. You've got to eat, sleep, and breath it to be the best.
With this drive and passion for the game, it has inspired me to work hard in school, the weight room, and on the baseball field. I approach this with all the respect hard work it deserves, but not to the point that the fun gets lost. I feel like I would be a great asset to your team, by bringing sportsmanship, a drive to succeed, and a positive attitude. As a pitcher you learn how to be confident yet humble and sometimes to even be humbled. I feel that humility and respect in the game is lacking in too many organizations. I'm different from other recruits because of my love for the game, my mental strength, and determination. I carry this into the classroom as well as reflected by my high GPA.
