Personal Statement
Baseball is my passion. I have been playing since I was 4 years old. I have played with many teams including travel teams, community and club teams. This has helped me become a better teammate, player and build skills in different positions. I have always stayed focused on being the best that I can be and continuing to grow as I play baseball daily. Since entering my sophomore year of high school I played for the school team. Before that I played for a private club team and continue to do so in the offseason. I train daily with teammates and independently. I assist my assistant coach with coaching younger baseball players at a local community center. Being a role model for them, by encouraging them to be the best they can be is important to me because of the many mentors that have inspired me over the years to be a better version of myself.
My goal is to continue to play baseball after high school at a school that is able to help me financially achieve post secondary education and pursue my dream of college level baseball. I am a team player, my coaches describe me as a determined, hard working teammate that would go and work even harder to improve my skills or help a teammate. My mother was a single mom up to my age of 15, where she worked multiple jobs to provide opportunities for myself and twin brother throughout our childhood. I know the importance of hard work and not giving up as she was a teenage mother, who put herself through nursing school and then graduate school all while raising us to be responsible, respectful and hard working young men. My brother and I knew the importance of responsibilities at a young age throught out chores and maintaining good grades. I have struggled with a learning disability since the age of 4, but with dedication and working diligently to excel in school and pursue my dreams of a college education I have exceeded expectations with fellow teachers and coaches.
