Tanner Hunt '16 Recruiting Profile

            I am a junior at Elkhorn High School in Elkhorn, Nebraska.  I have a starting position in Center Field for my baseball team and I have been playing Varsity Baseball since my Freshman Year. I started playing baseball as soon as I could walk and manage the bat, ball, & glove.  My fondest memories are those of non-stop backyard baseball games with siblings and friends.  I knew at a young age I was “hooked for life” and wanted to work hard at becoming the best I could be. I have not only developed athleticism from working out and playing baseball, but more importantly I have grown as a person and enhanced my mental toughness.  The game has allowed me to be able to recognize opportunities, accept feedback, and hold myself accountable to improve.  It has helped me to become self –motivated, a team player, a leader, goal-oriented, and blessed with a great sense of humor. My current and future academic goals are to focus more on student first, athlete second.  There is opportunity to improve my GPA and I am working very hard to do so.  I would like to focus on a Business Major in college and one day reach the goal of owning a business. To conclude, I am well rounded and consistently work on improving my game and myself.  Besides school and baseball, I am actively involved with a part-time job, which allows me to earn and manage my own finances.  I also assist with youth sports programs, enjoy volunteer work, and support my family with whatever assistance is necessary. I would love to discuss any opportunities available that would allow me to obtain a higher education while continuing to enhance my baseball and life skills.
