From the time I was little, my dad and I played catch anywhere and anytime, even in the living room. It was a natural part of our relationship that built into an incredible passion for the sport. My goal is to continue my baseball journey at the collegiate level where my passion and understanding of the game will expand in ways I can only dream about. I’m interested in a college with a respected scholastic reputation, with a baseball program filled with honor and tradition, and led by coaches who love the game. The zip code doesn’t matter, it’s all about the right academic and athletic fit.
One would imagine that many personal statements revolve around family, and rightly so! In the Midwest, loyalty, character, grit and determination is the way of life. Being immersed in this culture translates into my studies, how I respect my coaches and teammates, and how I play in the field. Baseball is an amazing blend of individual moments – the battle between the pitcher and hitter – and team moments. Once the ball is put in play, the individual moment turns into a team moment as the defense tries to put a 6-4-3 in the books. It parallels my life where I know my individual decisions not only impact me, but also my family, my team, and my community. I am committed to be the best person that I can be on and off the field, for me and for those around me.
