Personal Statement
First of all, I would like to say what makes me an explosive athlete is I have good quickness and can get to the ball fast. I'm 5'6, 140 pounds, and I run a 4.7 40 yard dash. My most important accomplishments would probably be being chosen to be in the Ralph Bishop League All-Star Games in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 during American Legion baseball. I also would consider a big accomplishment making the Lewis and Clark all-conference team my sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school in basketball. Finally, making the State Football Playoffs all of my years of high school for football, playing from the quarterback position. What I can offer to a team would be my leadership to my fellow teammates not just on the field, but off of it. I've always set an example to my coaches and teammates how good of a leader I am. I always am the one pushing my teammates to get better every single game and practice. I always stay after practice and usually take buckets and buckets of ground balls, improving my explosiveness of getting to and through the ball. What I could bring to a team most would be my glove, and my speed on the base paths. This is what an opposing coach, David Stoddard, sent to me through an email after we beat his team in districts... "First of all good game last night and throughout the tournament. As an opposing coach I have to say you play the game the right way and its great to see. I've told my younger players to use you and Pat as an example to follow. Good Luck tonight in the district finals." I would like to play baseball close to home, but then again if a good academic and athletic school far away would want me I would most definitely consider it. I would be open to taking a look at many different types of schools, wherever I could offer my skills to a good college baseball team. My major is Business Administration. My athletic goals in college would be to play at the highest competition level I'm capable of doing, I am a great competitor, and hard worker. I would like to play my freshman year, I would make a definite impact on my team. I will strive to get things done not only for my teammates, but also for my coaches. I attend school right now at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, NE. I'm not playing baseball right now, but I started playing baseball again in a adult men's basebalI league. I've missed the sport so much I wish I would've played in college now. I'm trying to get my name out there again and see if I can play baseball places in the fall. My game has improved over a year and I'm working out to better and better everyday. I hope that coaches will take a chance to read this and learn a little bit more about me.
