Jaren Gillespie '20 Recruiting Profile

    Hello! My name is Jaren Gillespie. I am a catcher from the class of 2020. I come from a small town called Elko, Nevada. When I get to the point when I am able to enter college, I want to enter the field of Psychology. I want to try and receive the minimum of a bachelor's degree. If I am apart of a team in college, my goal is to win. I love winning and being the best out there. I am a team focused, competitive, and hard-working player. I want to make it as far as I possibly can go into the future of baseball and I desire to play in the league someday.

     I am different from other players because I will always go the extra mile. I always take extra reps when I can and I always push myself towards mastery. I love competing and will do anything to help the program win. My only demand is that I am involved in a program who desires success as much I do. Even if we are losing, as long as we are competing until the very end of the game, I am a happy ball player. I believe that in order to be a great and dominant player, you must be strong on the field and off the field. Most people believe the ball game starts in the first inning is over after the last inning. I believe the game starts when you get out of the bus and ends when you are back on it. I am a vocal leader and if a teammate is struggling in an area, I will work with them until that area isn't of concern anymore. I love being involved with my team. That is what makes me different from any other player.
