As a senior in high school I have learned a lot about myself through activities that I participate in such as Baseball, S.T.E.M, and Film/Media. Each activity has taught me many things that have helped me both in and outside of these activities. Being a part of these activities have taught me to have discipline, work ethic, and be respectful inside and outside of sports. I am eager to begin the next chapter of my academic journey where I can further develop these passions and get a career in what I love to do.
Baseball has been a huge part of my life since I was a child. Ever since I have stepped on the field I have been able to develop physical skills but also essential life lessons such as teamwork, perseverance, and respect. The passion that I have for baseball being with my teammates, memories, and thrill of the competition fueled my dedication for this sport. Over the years I was grateful to have prominent coaches that helped me be the young man that I am today. The years that have impacted me the most was high school. With high school baseball there were a lot of ups and downs but as a team and with great coaches we would always try to better one another inside and outside of baseball. I am excited about the opportunity to continue the passion of playing baseball at the collegiate level and the discipline and commitment that is required on and off the field that will connect into the success in other areas of my life.
When I first got into engineering in middle school I was very fascinated with designing and building. I would always carry a sketchbook with ideas of design for buildings and equipment that would hopefully inspire and connect people once I enter the job force. In high school I had narrowed down from aerospace engineering to architecture since I had opportunities for internships that built my passion for architecture. I wish to immerse myself in the study of architecture in college and participate in the creation of sustainable, beautiful and functional spaces that will benefit society.
Film/Media represents another side of my creative personality. When I took film my junior year in high school I knew I fell in love. Everytime I would watch a movie or show I would watch them in a different perspective that grew because of media class. During the first year of film, which was my junior year, we did many competitions. The one that stands out the most as I started this journey was STN. It is a national competition and my partner and I won 2nd place nationally in action sports editing. For being our first year there and placing 2nd with all the excitement of my team was an eye opener and gave me a new passion for this art form. As a senior my role was changed to be a leader and at first it was tough, but overtime I was able to build everyone to the best of their abilities as well as myself with leadership.
What sets me apart from other students is the desire to connect with these passions in my life. Being involved with these activities have helped me to stay out of trouble as well as keeping up with grades and maintaining a high gpa. Despite having very unique choices of activities, I am able to use these skills and lessons to help me be an outstanding individual in anything I do. With these activities, they create different experiences as well as opportunities for jobs in the future.
I am committed to thrive for excellence in baseball, architecture, and film/media as I enter college. I am open to all opportunities and ultimately want to find the right college match at the highest possible level. Despite my passions in these interests I would like to make a meaningful contribution to society through creativity, teamwork, and innovation. With the skills, values, and experiences gained in college allowing me to make a lasting impact in all of these areas and beyond.
