From an athletic standpoint, in addition to baseball, I have played many sports. I played travel lacrosse until my commitment to baseball ended that a few years ago. I played flag football, competing in regional championships until I aged out of that program. I have played some basketball but was never able to focus on it because it conflicted with my skiing commitment. I was on the Mount Snow (Vermont) Freestyle ski team for a number of years, with my personal highlight being a 6th place finish in the aerials competition of the VT State Championships a few years ago. I have given baseball lessons and often volunteer to help at Bobby Valentine's Baseball Academy. I strive to be a great teammate, always supportive and encouraging. I'm not necessarily the loudest all the time but I try to pick spots to help fire up the team. Since I don't yell all the time, I have found I get a stronger reaction when I do.
Academically, I work hard. I wish it came as easy to me as athletics. I look to get extra help from my teachers in classes that I'm not as strong in, although I admit my Dad probably wished I would do that even more. I most definitely want to succeed. When my sports career is over, I hope to find success in the business world.
I believe I would be an asset to a college, both as a student and friend, as well as to any baseball program I was part of. Thank you for taking your time to read this. I look forward to hearing from you.
