Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Leo Asta and I am very excited about playing college baseball. My baseball journey began when I was around 2-3 years old going to different camps and practices, where I just started to love the game. Ever since then I have had the best 16 years of my life learning, competing, and working hard to become a better player and person. Through different travel teams including LIB, BEAST, Jr. Ducks ,Titans, and LI Elite Prospects. I have been grateful to play with so many amazing coaches, players, and friends along the way. I am primarily a MIF because I have good hands, speed, and a strong arm. I enjoy making plays in the infield and anticipating what could happen before the pitch is thrown. I could play the outfield and corner infield too, and I am just happy to be utilized in a way to help the team win. I also pitch in the low 80s for my fastball with a change-up/curve-ball to mix in. I currently play for the LI Elite Prospects and my varsity team at Mepham High School. This season I have felt really comfortable at the plate and seeing the ball out of the pitchers hand. Mostly I hit the gaps and want to hit it where its pitched. In school I have always been taking honors classes, APs, and other classes to challenge me while still maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I really hope this short summary of my career can help me find a good home to continue playing at the highest level. I have always been serious about my baseball career and academics and will continue that at your school. Thanks for reading.
