Shane McLaughlin '22 Recruiting Profile

Baseball has always been something that I look forward to and has always been such an important part of my life. Throughout my years of playing baseball I have grown not only as a player, but as a person. I have learned many life lessons and baseball has taught me the importance of working hard. I would not be where I am today athletically or academically without working hard and putting 110% effort into school and baseball. 

Failure in this sport has shown me how important the process is. I have always enjoyed practicing baseball and going to the gym. I have always enjoyed the grind to getting better regardless of the outcome. I believe this sentiment can be applied to my academic life as well. I have always been a conscientious student and an advocate for my education. 

I feel I would bring positive energy to the team, and a focused work ethic. These qualities I believe would be able to uplift the team and motivate the players. To add on I have a good natured personality and I can get along well and build a strong bond with the coaches and the players to help build a strong team chemistry.

I am looking for a high academic school that will allow me to fulfill my lifelong dream of playing college baseball and becoming an engineer.
