Zachary Jaffe '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zach Jaffe and I am a 5'10" 185 pound outfielder that attends the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in the Bronx, NY.  I currently carry a 3.7 GPA and scored a 2210 on my SAT.  I want to go to an academically oriented college, with a great learning environment and a place where I can succeed.  Academics are and always will be the number one priority for me and my family.  I hope to continue my studies at a school with a strong foreign language/international relations program but otherwise am open to other majors.  The best thing I offer to any team is my drive and resilience to succeed.  After being one of the last cuts from the varsity squad in my freshman year, I spent the entire offseason working on becoming the best ballplayer I could be.  I then started on the varsity team as a sophomore helping us to a second place finish in the state tournament.  Then, as a junior, I hit fourth and led the league in RBI's en route to another state runner-up finish.  A  My playing style is also unique amongst almost all other players.  I am a switch hitter, who can play 9 different positions on the diamond, steal bases, bunt for a hit and hit the gaps well.  I ultimately would like to play at a school where I can thrive athletically but foremost, academically.
