Making the playoffs with my jv team two years ago was the highlight of my entire baseball career. Unfortunately, we lost in the semi-finals. However, I feel that losing taught me more than if we would have won the championship. My upperclassmen teammates showed me what true leaders look like and how they act. I aspire to be the same type of teammate to the new comers on the team this year.
I was lucky enough to have come into my high school at a time where we are flourishing in the sport I love. Last year we went deep into the playoffs and this year we are making another solid run for the championship. Over the last year and a half I have learned what makes someone a good teammate. I learned how important teamwork, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice are not just in baseball but in everyday life. I also learned what true leaders look like from my upperclassmen teammates last year and I aspire to be the same type of role model teammate to the new comers on my team this year. I am looking to attend a school that is not only right for me athletically but also academically. I believe that I will have a great, positive impact wherever I attend. My character, willingness to work, and what I have learned from past teammates will help me thrive in any environment.
