I've been playing baseball since I was five. I've always loved playing. I can watch ESPN 24/7. I just can't get enough of it. When I was 12 my dad thought it would be better if I played on a little larger field than what we did in little league. I played for a travel team called the Taconic Rangers. We played on the 50/70 field rather than 45/60. I played for this team for 4 years, and every year we always played up in age level rather than our own. When I was 15 we went to quite a few tournaments, but I think the best one was when we went to the East Cobb Georgia tournament and played 17U. There are 195 teams that come to this tournament every year. Obviously at 15 we got smoked, but it was a great experience. I love playing against the best competition. I honestly believe that if you don't push yourself your not moving forward. The last two years I've been playing for the Southern Dutchess Lightning where we've also been playing up in the 18U division. A few characteristics that I think define me as a player are: I don't give up. I hate to lose, no matter what the game. I could be playing a board game with my family, and I want to win. If I lose I don't show that it bothers me, but I am competitive. I see the play after the play. I won't run the 60 in 6.5, but I believe I'm extremely quick. I believe I know the game, and I know where I need to be on the field in any situation. I stand at 5'9" and weigh about 170 pounds. The reason I left the Taconic Rangers at 15 is that the coach was getting some older players, and wanted me to just pitch. I was not interested in that at such a young age, and I believe I made the right decision. I believe as a middle infielder my quickness, foot work, and soft hands are a huge strength. I've played at the Varsity level since I was a sophmore, and started every game. I started every game my junior year and was awarded All League in the toughest AA division in New York State, and was nominated Honorable Mention All-Section as well. The top three teams in our league are John Jay(East Fishkill), Ketcham, and Arlington. At one point we were ranked 1,2,3 in New York State. I'm open to going pretty much anywhere to play baseball. One of my goals is to actually play as a freshman at the next level. I've never sat in my life, and although I know it may come to that, I'm dedicated to making that goal a reality. I want to go into Physical Therapy for a career, so I'm looking at schools that would offer that as a major.
