Justin Freeman '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Justin Freeman and I'm a 2026 graduate at Valley Central HS in Montgomery, NY. I've played varsity baseball there since 8th grade and also currently play for the HV Storm. This past summer I was invited as the youngest player to join the American Legion Newburgh Nuclears. It's been a great year statistically for me, but what I really enjoyed were the players I got to play with every day and the coaches that taught me so much.

Adaptability

As a freshman, I was asked to start every game at second base, a position I had never played before. I finished that season with only 1 error. As a Sophomore, I was asked to make the shift to third base, and again took on the assignment happily. I am looking forward to finishing off the last 2 years of HS baseball behind the plate where I feel at home.

Work ethic.

I currently have a 3.8/4.0 GPA while taking all advanced/AP classes and working 4 days a week after school. I'm confident that I can help raise the average team GPA for whichever college program I play. My plan is to graduate HS with multiple college credits behind me which will mean more time on the field and less time in study hall and with tutors.

Durability.

Speaking of more time on the field, I've consistently played a 50+ game season. I haven't missed a single game due to injury or fatigue. I attribute this durability to the time I spend in the gym both in and off season. My goal has been to spend 2 to 3 hours a day, 6 days a week doing something related to baseball.

Baseball IQ.

I have been fortunate to serve as a Bullpen Catcher for former MLB player Willie Fraser for the past 3 years. I've attended Teel's Catchers' Tools of Intelligence program and will continue to do so. And most recently joining the Nuclears has allowed me to be coached by greats like Shea Ceriello and Wade Davis.

My goals are to continue to improve everyday so that I can make an immediate impact both academically and as a baseball player for the college I attend.
