As early as I can remember, I’ve had my baseball glove on my hand. My dad has always encouraged my desire to play, always willing to have a catch, or go to the fields and throw some “bp”. The practice I put in over the years had molded me into a versatile team player, someone willing to lend a hand anywhere on my team.
The thing I avoid most is becoming complacent. I am constantly working to improve my skill sets. I have come to learn that hard work is the only path to success. These ideals are applied not only on the diamond, but also in the classroom. After a difficult freshman year of remote learning, I completed my first sophomore semester on my school’s honor roll, and I plan to continue working hard– continuing to improve my academics as well as the other facets of my life, especially baseball.
And lastly, though I understand baseball has become very metrics and numbers driven, there is no score or number you can use to measure heart, and I'd ask not to overlook that aspect as that's one of my best "tools".
