Carson Dunkel '18 Recruiting Profile

Having been a multiple sport athlete in baseball, basketball and football my entire life, I enjoy all 3 sports, however, I have an extreme passion for the sport of baseball.   My father coached and played catcher for a men's baseball team most of my life, and I have accompanied him to the ballpark regularly since I was just 3 years old.  

One of my most cherished accomplishments was moving up to our varsity football team during my sophomore season and playing in the New York State Class B State Championship football game at the Syracuse Carrier Dome.  I am also extremely proud to have been a starting catcher, shortstop and pitcher during my sophomore year for our varsity baseball squad, as well as moving up and playing in the sectional playoffs during my freshman season.

My older brother just started his his freshman season of college baseball and I would love to follow in his footsteps.  My goals are to get a high quality education and play collegiate baseball at the highest level I possibly can.  I have a passion for the game of baseball and specifically for the position of catcher.   I truly believe I have the physical ability, leadership qualities and outstanding work ethic required to not only play catcher at the collegiate baseball level, but also to excel at it as well.
