My name is Julian Barber and I am an 11th grader at Whitehall Junior/Senior High School. I weigh 165 lbs and I am 5' 9'' tall. Last year I made the Varsity Baseball Team and I started as the Left Fielder. I played JV baseball my 8th grade year. This year I made the varsity team again and will be starting in left field but I will also be catching about 50% of the time. Baseball may be my main sport, but it's not the only one I participate in. I have been wrestling at the varsity level since my 7th grade year. I placed fourth in the section 2 class D tournament as a 10th grader at 152 lbs. Wrestling is a great contributor to my baseball talent. Wrestling taught me to be mentally strong, this helps me to get deep into counts and to be confident in no matter what situation I am put in during a game. I also run cross country, which keeps me in great physical shape for when winter baseball training begins. During the summer I play in a travel baseball league. My main position is being an outfielder but I also catch. I was currently clocked at a 3.8 seconds home-to-first time by my travel coach. I am a motivated and self-disciplined person not only on the baseball field, but also in the classroom. I am a member of the National Honor Society and I am currently in the advanced placement program at my high school. My GPA is currently a 3.8 and I strive to do my best academically. I have dreamed of playing Division I Baseball every since I was in 5th grade, when my father brought home an authentic Clemson University baseball jersey from a business trip. My dream is still to play Division 1 baseball, but yet I truly just want to find the right school for me. Baseball and every time I step foot on the field, be it for practice or game, I put 100% into my play, always working on improving my game, listening to my coaches, and watching the game to become the best player that I can be.
Goal
My one goal is to find the right school for me. I want to go to a school I can be competitive on and off the field. I want a school that will complement my academic drive and love for the game of baseball.
