Baseball isn’t just a sport to me. It has been my passion, and my greatest teacher for the past thirteen years. Baseball has given me purpose and constantly given me room for growth. Whether I was growing physically over the years or mentally battling my thoughts before my next at bat, I was always improving. This game has shaped who I am. It has taught me discipline, mental toughness, and a relentless work ethic. It’s what drives me to get up early on weekends to train, while most kids my age are still asleep. It’s what I look forward to after a long day at school, when most people are winding down, I’m just getting started. I hold myself accountable, not just competing against the other team but always against the player I was yesterday. Like every athlete, I have had moments of doubt, wondering if I was enough or if I would live up to the goals I have set for myself. But I have been blessed with supportive parents who have always believed in me and reminded me that if baseball is what I truly want, I have to outwork everyone else. That mindset has driven me from local rec leagues to travel ball and now to my varsity high school team as a team captain. I know this is just the beginning. I am committed to excelling throughout the rest of my high school career, earning a spot at a great college program, and, if I am fortunate enough, as a potential draft pick in the MLB, taking this dream as far as it can go. No matter where this journey leads, baseball will always be a part of who I am. I am proud to wear number 17, and I am even more proud of the person this game has helped me become, with many more lessons to learn in the future.
