Personal Statement
Moving across the country caused me to pursue baseball and I am grateful for it. I grew up in California and raced my bicycle (BMX) for 7 years, advancing to expert level very early on. When my family moved to North Carolina, I quickly realized that the level of intense competition I was used to was greatly lacking. It became obvious that I needed to find another sport to satisfy my love for athleticism and competition. A friend of mine suggested that I try playing baseball and I instantly fell in love with it!
Within two years of starting baseball, I was able to make it on a travel baseball team. Our team is now competing in showcase tournaments. Through BMX and now baseball, I have learned that I have very high expectations of myself. I love to push myself to excel in everything I do. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for my drive to succeed academically and athletically. Thank you!
