I have had many important people in my life who have had an influence on me to be the best I can be. Of course, my parents had the most influence. What have the taught me? To be respectful to others even when I don't want to be. This has created a sense of discipline in me to know there are times I need to keep my mouth shut. My dad has always stressed that I should try to be the best I can be. This means that I need to achieve high grades in school and a good relationship with my teachers so I can achieve those goals. I ask what I don't understand and seek out help when I need it. I a hoping these characteristics help me to be qualified to go to any college of my choosing. My Grandpa Joe has shown me that life is not just about me. I need to help others help themselves when they can't. He has taught me also to seek help in areas of weakness when I need it.
The characteristics I have learned from my parents and Grandpa also led me to love the game of Baseball. Ever since I was in Tee Ball and I learned to hit a ball with a bat and catch a ball with a mitt I have loved the sport. I also learned that if I wanted to keep playing it I had to work to be an excellent player. I have played coach pitch, kid pitch, and travel ball in my life. What has baseball taught me? For one, I won't let the opposing teams hitting streak affect my hitting, pitching, or fielding. also, I could never become a better player without practicing regularly. It has also taught me that I have to work hard for everything.
