Grayson Irwin '21 Recruiting Profile

I'm excited to introduce myself and be a part of the NCSA family. I became hooked on baseball at age 4 and my passion has only grown over the years, especially after learning the art of owning the plate. I am the Starting catcher for Varsity! One of three Starting freshmen in the state. (2021 graduate @ E.A. Laney & Pro 5 Baseball Academy/ NC) with aspirations of playing baseball in college!

I have recently been selected to attend and complete my senior year of high school in Raleigh, NC with Pro 5 Baseball Academy.  It’s an honor and opportunity I am exceptionally excited about! 

Baseball is more than a game- it also helps to foster my natural leadership, time management and work ethic strengths. I received the Noble Eagle Society award for maintaining an "A" average through out middle school; while participating in athletics (football, basketball,baseball) as well as community services. I plan on continuing this track in the STEM program throughout high school.

My parents will tell you I have 'never met a stranger.' I love the outdoors!! I prefer the gym over the couch, outdoors over inside and feel privileged to have such supportive parents and amazing coaches behind me.

My best asset may also be my downfall. I am extremely goal oriented and push myself constantly; in the gym, on the field, in school- My two favorite motivational quotes are: "Winners have simply formed the habit of doing things losers don't like to do" and "Three Outs in Baseball- Out Hustle, Out Think, Out Perform"

I am a two sport Varsity athlete- (baseball & swimming)
