Roosevelt (RJ) Barnes '17 Recruiting Profile

I am currently completing my senior year at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA.  I will be graduating with honors in May 2021 with a degree in Finance and I am looking to continue my education and athletic career as a transfer graduate student.  I am a recent 34th round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2017.  Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and a medical redshirt in 2019, I currently have 3 years of NCAA athletic eligibility going into the 2020-21 season.  I am looking to get into an institution that is competitive athletically and academically as I pursue my MBA.

 I consider myself as a team player, and leader in the field and the classroom.  You're going to get a mature selfless  leader in the dugout by adding me to your roster.  During my college career, I have hit .250 and played all positions in the outfield.  I've spent a summer playing in the California Collegiate League with the Compton Barons.  I also spent a summer interning for Major League Baseball in New York with the Youth Programing campaign.  Baseball has been a very significant part of my life.  I run a 6.58 60 and have hit any where in a lineup with the ability to hit for power, bunt for a hit and steal bases.  I am currently in the NCAA transfer portal as well.  I look forward to making a contribution to my future program.
