Personal Statement
I currently attend Marist Catholic High School in Eugene, OR. Marist is a college preparatory high school and I maintain a 3.5 GPA. I am a highly motivated student athlete. My goals are to play baseball at the collegiate level while I pursue a biology degree. I plan to become a doctor of Veterinary Medicine. While I have played both football and basketball in high school, baseball is my passion. I have played at the varsity level for two years. I pride myself on having a strong work ethic. This is evident in the classroom and on the baseball field.
In addition to playing for my high school team I am also a member of Northwest Diamond Sports 18U team. This requires traveling to Portland but is a commitment I have made to improve my skills. The opportunity to face tougher competition with this travel team is something I look forward to. I know the challenge will improve my game and make me a better ball player.
Outside of school and baseball I enjoy several other sports and activities. My favorites are fly fishing, trap/skeet shooting, and golf. All of these are sports or activities that challenge me and require focus. I am currently working towards becoming an accomplished fishing guide. Learning the rivers and helping others have a great day on the river are extremely enjoyable to me.
