Hello,

My name is Joe Barnes. I am adopted and was born in Guatemala.  I have lived in Oregon since I was 1 1/2 years old. I have

My goal for my college years, is to be able to play the sport I love the most, baseball.  I would like to play for a community college in the west. I love to joke around and keep things fun, but I keep to myself and am sometimes a quiet person.  I am a good student, I listen, I ask questions and try to keep up on my work.

I feel I am a pretty athletic person.  The two sports I play in school are baseball and alpine ski racing.  I love baseball.  I have been playing since I was 5 in t-ball.  I love to throw and when I learned to pitch in 3rd grade, it became my favorite position as it still is today.  I am a good team player and really enjoy working with Coach Webber over the last three years, since summer of 8th grade.   Here is a link to from our local newspaper, the Philomath News that featured me during a game against Cascade High School.

I am also an alpine ski racer. I started skiing at the age of three and then raced at the age of 7 and race on our high school team.  I also like soccer and played up through 7th grade. 

Sports come easy for me.  But I know I have to work hard to be the best I can be.  I will do that for whatever college I might attend and team I might play for.
