TY is a solid, strong C/OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.00. At the plate is where he shows best outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path with extension. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball coming off the bat differently with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally, covering ground. Arm strength (85 mph velocity) is outstanding with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry through his target. Behind the plate, feet work in line through a quick transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.00-2.17 with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. With 2 more years to further develop, TY has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
