One of my earliest memories is the day my parents and I knew baseball was the sport for me. I was four years old and attending a men's fast pitch softball tournament. At the crack of the bat, I began running full speed to catch the ball in left field before anyone else did. Luckily, my dad was a little faster than me and caught me before a collision with the left fielder occurred. From that day forward, I have loved the game and have devoted myself to not only improving my skills as a catcher and a hitter but also have devoted myself to studying the game.
Over the years playing travel baseball, I have been fortunate to be the starting catcher for my teams often catching every inning of every game on the weekends. Constantly being a part of the action is what I live for. This year, however, for my high school team I was the backup catcher getting a few innings here and there. Through this experience I truly learned what it meant to be a team player and how important sacrifice and commitment is to a team. I believe that I have the commitment, work-ethic, and ability to play at the college level and am looking for a program that will be a fantastic fit not only athletically but academically as well. I am confident I have what it takes to be a contributor on many levels to your team.
